Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Sr. Database Specialist Solutions Architect to drive complex migrations and modernization efforts for Healthcare and Life Sciences customers.

You will architect DB solutions across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, and specialized engines while guiding customers to measurable business outcomes. You will lead assessments, performance optimizations, and architecture reviews, and mentor SAs through workshops and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (e.g. software, cloud, systems).
• 3+ years design/implementation/consulting for apps/infrastructures.
• 10+ years IT development or consulting in software/Internet industries.
• Experience with commercial relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Experience with non-relational databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Redis, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for HCLS customers.
• Lead migration assessments, performance optimization, and reviews.
• Provide 1:1 advisory sessions and 1:many enablement workshops.
• Drive database service adoption and contribute to GTM strategy.
• Create reusable technical content and mentor field Solutions Architects.
• Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering to align roadmaps.
