Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Database Specialist Solutions Architect to design complete architectures around AWS database services. You will lead technical deep dives, develop proof-of-concept projects, and support migrations from on-premise databases to AWS managed services.

You will engage with customers from engineering to executives, crafting reference architectures and solution blueprints while promoting best practices across relational and non-relational data platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience across software development, cloud, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or internet industries.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
• Deep knowledge of at least one open source relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) or non-relational (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Couchbase, Neptune, Neo4j) database.

Responsibilities

• Provide AWS customers with deep technical expertise and strategic guidance for database services.
• Collaborate with specialist sales, marketing, and product teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to executives during cloud transformation and data management initiatives.
• Lead architectural reviews and workshops on common use cases and best practices.
• Design and architect complex database solutions using relational and non-relational tech.
• Create thought leadership content such as blogs and white papers.
• Present at industry events like AWS re:Invent and AWS Summit.
• Educate customers on AWS data management value for production workloads.
• Provide feedback to AWS product teams on customer requirements and urgent issues.
• Stay current with trends in databases, analytics, and GenAI for competitive advantage.
• Travel ~25% mainly within the US.
