Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect to lead deep, technical engagements migrating both heterogeneous and homogeneous databases to AWS-native targets such as Aurora, RDS, and Amazon DSQL.

You will work across tooling like AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI-based solutions, developing prototypes and reusable content for customers. You will mentor other specialists, contribute to roadmaps, and travel up to ~30% to engage with customers and deliver workshops

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• 5+ years in specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and/or native/third-party replication tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes/demos and GenAI-based migration tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations to AWS-native targets including Aurora, RDS, and Amazon DSQL.
• Serve as a domain expert across the migration toolchain — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI-based tooling.
• Troubleshoot replication, performance, schema, and data-validation issues to unblock migrations.
• Build prototypes and demos using GenAI tools to accelerate proofs of concept.
• Represent customer voice to influence product roadmap and provide field feedback to GTM and account teams.
