Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in San Francisco, CA seeks a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect to lead deep, technical migrations from Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase and other engines to AWS-native targets like Aurora and RDS.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and/or replication tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes/demos and GenAI-based tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous migrations to AWS-native targets.
• Serve as a domain expert across the migration toolchain — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI tools.
• Investigate replication, performance, schema and data-validation challenges hands-on to unblock migrations.
• Build prototypes, demos, and reusable artifacts for customer engagements using GenAI tools.
• Represent customer voice to influence product roadmap and GTM efforts.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to GTM and account teams and handle escalations.
• Contribute to AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and events.
• Create scalable field enablement and mentor other Specialist SAs.
