Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Database Specialist Solutions Architect to design complete architectures using AWS database services for diverse customers across the US.

You will work with customers and partners, leading technical deep dives and proof-of-concept projects to migrate or build on-premise databases to AWS managed services. The role emphasizes collaboration with sales, engineering, and product teams, and involves travel up to 25% to support customer engagements and deliver

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technology domain experience including software, cloud, or infrastructure.
• 3+ years in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years IT development or implementation/consulting in software/Internet.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Experience communicating with executives and technical/non-technical audiences.
• Deep knowledge of at least one open source relational or non-relational database (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, MongoDB).

Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical expertise and strategic guidance for AWS Database Services.
• Collaborate with specialist sales, marketing, and product teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to executives guiding cloud transformation.
• Lead architectural reviews and workshops on common use cases and best practices.
• Design and architect complex database solutions based on relational or non-relational tech.
• Champion best practices through blogs, white papers, and reference architectures.
• Present at industry events like AWS re:Invent and AWS Summit.
• Educate customers on AWS value for data management workloads in production environments.
• Provide feedback to AWS product teams and act as primary contact for issues.
• Stay current with trends in databases, analytics, and GenAI; travel ~25% in US.
