Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a seasoned software/data engineer to design and scale end-to-end data pipelines and backend services powering our CGM platforms. You will work with Data and AI Platform Engineers to deliver reliable, secure data and AI-driven insights for consumer and enterprise mobile applications.

The role emphasizes cloud-native design, distributed systems, and collaboration across product, security, and operations to ensure production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
• Experience with distributed systems, AI services, or data platforms
• Understanding of data pipelines and data lifecycle management
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful or gRPC APIs
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native services
• CI/CD, version control, and automated testing
• AI development tooling like Claude code

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-based software systems in an Agile & Kanban environment
• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for large-scale ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Build and evolve backend services and APIs exposing trusted data to internal systems, partners, and mobile apps
• Collaborate with Data/AI Platform Engineers and Platform teams to integrate AI insights into production systems
• Ensure data platforms meet reliability, performance, scalability, and data quality standards
• Apply software engineering principles including clean architecture, testability, observability, and automation
• Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and long-term platform roadmap decisions
• Lead by example through code reviews, design mentorship, and technical guidance for juniors
• Partner with product, security, and operations to deliver compliant, secure, production-ready solutions
