Job summary

Dexcom Inc. is seeking a Sr Staff SW Development Engineer for a remote role in the United States. You will lead architecture for scalable cloud-native backend platforms and data systems powering Dexcom’s AI-enabled features, partnering with AI Platform Engineers to deliver robust services and APIs.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive engineering excellence, and ensure reliability, security, and cost‑effective cloud solutions across the ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 13+ years of related engineering experience or a Master’s with 8+ years.
• Experience leading cloud-native backend platforms and AI-assisted tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of scalable cloud-native backend platforms and data systems.
• Drive technical strategy across teams and long-term platform investments.
• Champion AI-assisted software development practices and standards.
• Provide technical leadership across the software lifecycle, including design, testing, and security.
• Design and optimize distributed systems using GCP services (Firestore, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub).
• Mentor engineers and improve developer experience, CI/CD, observability, and cost.
• Lead during incidents with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
