Job summary

Dexcom, a leader in continuous glucose monitoring, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design and operate our commercial data platform on AWS. You will ingest from 12+ vendor sources, orchestrate transformations, and deliver analytics-ready datasets to data scientists, analysts, and 300+ field representatives.

You will own AWS-native workflows (Lambda, Glue, CDK, Step Functions, Redshift) focusing on reliability and automation, and partner with data scientists and business stakeholders to build

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 8-12 years related experience or a Master’s degree with 5-7 years experience or a PhD with 2-4 years experience.
• Experience designing dimensional models and managing schema evolution in a data platform serving multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong Python development in cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines ingesting from 12+ vendor sources into S3 and Redshift.
• Own AWS-native workflows using Lambda, Glue, CDK, and Step Functions for scalable data services.
• Implement data quality frameworks to validate completeness, freshness, and accuracy at pipeline boundaries.
• Build alerting systems and playbooks to detect and respond to data platform issues quickly.
• Model and evolve the data warehouse schema and ensure data lineage and governance.
