Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst - II for a fully remote role supporting Veterans Affairs applications. The position requires strong CM and release engineering expertise in a regulated federal environment, with a focus on cloud migration, CI/CD, and automation.

The ideal candidate will lead CM initiatives, mentor junior staff, design robust build procedures, and ensure compliant, repeatable deployments across projects. A Public Trust clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading and delivering complex software builds and releases.
• Experience in regulated enterprises or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software and COTS products.
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring documented, compliant build parameters.
• Design, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve modeling and development.
• Create build procedures to support product development and deployment.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead and train junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
