Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst - II to drive software configuration management across the VA program. The role emphasizes cloud migration, CM tool development, and release engineering for both internal software and COTS products.

You will train developers, guide complex builds, enforce CM standards, and collaborate with stakeholders while advancing DevOps practices in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
• Experience in large, regulated enterprises or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Proficiency with CM practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting and delivery of software (COTS and internal).
• Perform CM and release tasks to document hardware configurations and ensure sustainable processes.
• Design, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
• Create build procedures to support software product development and usage.
• Develop software configuration standards for wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior analysts/engineers.
