Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst - II for a 100% remote role serving the Veterans Affairs department. You will lead software configuration management and release engineering, drive cloud migration efforts, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Proven CM leadership and release engineering across multiple environments.
• Experience in regulated or federal-like enterprise settings.
• Strong knowledge of CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Hands-on scripting for automation (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
• Familiarity with IaC and environment management (Ansible, Terraform).
• Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead CM and release engineering initiatives for complex software builds.
• Develop and maintain CM tools to support identification, control, and delivery.
• Design build procedures and ensure compliance with hardware configurations.
• Train developers on CM tools and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and mentor junior staff.
• Maintain predictable, auditable build and deployment pipelines.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
