Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support moderate complexity testing under direct supervision. You will prepare specimens, perform instrument checks, enter results in the Laboratory Information System, and assist with quality control procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma/GED, 2 years in a clinical setting, and CLIA-moderate complexity qualifications. Training and safety are emphasized in a collaborative onsite environment at Cedar Crest.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience; A.S degree preferred or equivalent.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar program with basic lab technique training.
• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for moderate complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA moderately complex laboratory testing and records results in the LIS under supervision.
• Recognizes/corrects instrument malfunctions and documents troubleshooting.
• Prepares reagents/controls and calibrates pipettes/thermometers per SOPs.
• Handles specimen labeling, transport, and basic quality control activities.
• Maintains safety, CSI participation, and training of new staff.

Education
