Job summary
Saint Francis Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform high-complexity testing and supervise duties as designated by the supervisor. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, and national certification as a laboratory scientist.
A minimum of 1 year of related experience is expected, with strong data entry and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include specimen processing, testing, QC, equipment maintenance, and collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related Biological/Chemical Science from an accredited college or university.
- National certification exam as a laboratory scientist (accredited by an approved agency) required.
- 1 year related experience with high complexity testing.
- Familiarity with data entry and computer systems.
Responsibilities
- Receives, prioritizes, and processes specimens and requisitions.
- Verifies specimen identification and labeling.
- Performs testing according to established procedures and maintains quality control.
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and uses PPE.
- Works independently with minimal supervision and supports the supervisor as needed.
