Job summary

UMass Amherst is seeking a Senior Classroom Support Technician to provide advanced technical support for campus computer classrooms. You will maintain Windows and macOS computers, printers, and software, ensuring reliable operation and effective use by faculty, staff, and students.

You will collaborate with Client Support Services to address complex requests, research new classroom technologies, and support strategic initiatives enhancing the student experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree substituted for one year.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass CJIS background check.
• Hardware/software troubleshooting and repair.
• OS installation and maintenance and network client configuration.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience supporting users in person and remotely.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve escalated issues related to classroom computers and AV systems.
• Deploy, update, and maintain instructional software and classroom systems.
• Manage user accounts and group policies in Active Directory.
• Implement and troubleshoot classroom technology solutions.
• Research emerging technologies for instructional environments.
• Provide onsite, phone, and remote support with high customer satisfaction.
