Job summary

CampusWorks is seeking a Desktop Technician to join our campus technology team. You will provide first and second-line support for desktop software, hardware, classroom tech, printing, and network issues for faculty, staff, and students on campus.

You will diagnose, repair, and deploy desktop images, input and track service requests, and collaborate with IT staff to resolve complex issues while adhering to FERPA/GLBA-like standards in higher education environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year related experience supporting PC hardware, software, peripherals, servers, printers, scanners, and classroom audiovisual technology.
• Professional IT certifications such as CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Server+, MCP, etc.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 2+ years of related desktop experience configuring, testing, and troubleshooting network connectivity and wireless access for computers or devices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs laptop/desktop computers and related peripherals.
• Diagnoses hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Installs and troubleshoots classroom IT equipment and networks.
• Configures and maintains domains, user accounts, software accounts, and wireless access.
• Maintains service records and updates tickets in the ticketing system.
• Collaborates with IT staff to resolve tickets and generate reports.
• Keeps knowledge base articles up to date and follows procedures.
