Job summary

The Illinois Lottery is hiring a Springfield Claims Supervisor in the Finance Division to oversee the processing of claims and payment of Lottery winners. This position emphasizes excellent customer service and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will serve as a working supervisor, coordinate with regional offices, and establish a training program for check writing. In-office work schedule is 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a union environment.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in business administration and accounting.
• Requires two (2) years professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budget planning and control or public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the processing of claims and payment of Lottery winners in the Springfield region.
• Serves as working supervisor and coordinates with managers and regional offices on state-wide check writing program.
• Establishes and maintains Check Writing training program for Springfield regional office staff.
• Interfaces with public, government officials, auditors, retailers, players, and staff to resolve operational issues.
• Acts as alternate to the Claims Manager in their absence.
• Performs other duties as required within scope of duties.
