Job summary

Counterpart, an insurtech platform, is seeking a claims professional for remote work to investigate coverage, liability, and damages with data-driven insights. You will manage claims end-to-end, collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners, and help shape our claims processes while upholding our brand and service standards.

The role requires 5+ years in claims, licensure, a law degree and designations preferred, and willingness to travel about 10–15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; law degree (J.D.) and professional designations (RPLU, AIC) highly preferred.
• Must possess all required state claim adjuster licenses, or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex matters and as a team player.
• High initiative and leadership skills; strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Comfort with a paperless claims environment and familiarity with Microsoft Office; Google Docs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate and timely investigations into the coverage, liability, and damages for each claim.
• Actively manage each claim to achieve timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Build and maintain relationships with policyholders, brokers, carrier partners, and Risk Engineers.
• Direct and monitor assignments to experts and outside counsel, ensuring service standards.
• Support data collection and use the Counterpart claim system to capture details.
• Identify emerging claim trends across industries and geographies.
• Provide feedback to improve claims processes and systems.
• Ensure touchpoints with insureds and brokers reflect Counterpart’s brand and mission.
