Job summary

You will partner with Underwriting, Legal, Reinsurance, Brokers, and Insureds to align on strategy, monitor reserves, review expenses, and coach a high‑performing team in a changing environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Commercial Claims (Excess and Specialized, General Liability, Environmental, etc.).
• Ability to direct work of others and implement strategies from senior leaders.
• Strong planning, communication, diplomacy, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Manages team to handle complex, high-exposure Excess claims with skilled resources.
• Drive urgency, accountability, disciplined collaboration, and clear communication.
• Partner with Underwriting, Legal, Reinsurance, Brokers, Insureds, Counsel to align on claim strategy.
• Model leadership and decisive decision-making in a dynamic environment.
• Attracts, develops, and engages claims staff while addressing underperformers.
• Focuses staff on continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.
• Participates in short to medium-term strategic planning.
• Reviews and approves expenses and settlements within authority; escalates beyond limits.
• Monitors reserve practices and ensures accurate, promptly established reserves.
• Prepares management reports on office operations and performance.
