Job summary

Markel seeks a Claims professional to resolve moderate complexity Workers’ Compensation claims across jurisdictions from Alpharetta, GA. You will handle litigated and non-litigated claims up to $250,000, review policies to confirm coverage, and set reserves with oversight from leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, an adjuster or legal license, and 5+ years of claims handling. Strong communication, analytical, and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Adjusters’ license or legal license in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of claims handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Handles claims in all jurisdictions.
• Handles litigated and non-litigated property damage claims with values up to $250,000.
• Handles non-litigated bodily injury claims with values up to $250,000 in all jurisdictions.
• Confirms coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Drafts coverage position letters.
• Identify losses which should be reported to SIU.
• Conducts investigations into loss facts and extent of damages.
• Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine insured’s exposure.
• Sets reserves within authority or makes recommendations on reserves.
• Represents Markel in mediations, as required.
• Provides excellent customer service to insureds while maintaining high production.
