Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Adjusters’ license or legal license in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of claims handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Handles claims in all jurisdictions.
• Handles litigated and non-litigated property damage claims with values up to $250,000.
• Handles non-litigated bodily injury claims with values up to $250,000 in all jurisdictions.
• Reviews policies and documents to confirm coverage.
• Analyzes coverage and communicates positions.
• Drafts coverage position letters.
• Identifies losses to SIU.
• Coordinates investigation into loss facts and damages.
• Sets reserves within authority or suggests changes.
• Participates in special projects.
• Represents Markel in mediations when required.
• Provides excellent customer service to insureds while maintaining production.
