Job summary

Markel Group in Florida seeks an experienced insurance claims professional to handle moderate complexity Workers' Compensation and casualty claims across jurisdictions. You will investigate, negotiate, and settle non-complex losses while coordinating with defense counsel and underwriters.

The role requires 4+ years of insurance experience, a college degree, strong written and spoken communication, and ability to manage a caseload independently. Travel 10–20% and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of insurance experience.
• Experience managing third-party administrators, MGAs, or managing general underwriters is a plus.
• College degree required; professional designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, negotiate and settle non-complex primary and excess policy casualty claims across jurisdictions.
• Analyze and determine coverage, draft routine correspondence, and communicate positions to stakeholders.
• Manage nationwide litigation, appoint and oversee defense counsel, and work toward economical resolutions.
• Collaborate with underwriting and internal teams on significant developments and reporting.
• Assist in training and development of the claims examiners.
