Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking an experienced claim professional to lead the most complex liability construction defect investigations. You will determine settlement vs litigation strategy, manage reserves, and coordinate with counsel.

This role operates with national scope and a flexible, hybrid schedule near CNA offices. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of claims experience, a Bachelor's degree, and professional designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• The highest level of technical and product specific expertise, claims resolution skill and knowledge of insurance and claims principles, practices and procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills and ability to interact with CNA's internal/external partners.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment to evaluate and handle ambiguous situations and issues.
• Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.

Responsibilities

• Manages the most complex investigations of claims, including coverage defenses, liability and damages exposures.
• Directs all types of investigative activity or litigation on major claims and ensures reserves are set.
• Directs and may engage in negotiation of the most complex settlement packages.
• Contributes to development of claims policy and business strategy.
• Mentors and guides less experienced staff and contributes to claim training.
• Identifies trends and communicates exposures to senior management.
