Job summary

CNA Insurance seeks a senior claims professional to lead the most complex liability construction defect investigations and settlement strategies. You will guide coverage defenses, assess damages, and coordinate with counsel and management.

The role carries national scope and a hybrid work schedule, with a focus on reducing inefficiencies and guiding policy decisions. The ideal candidate has about 10+ years of claims experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and professional designations

Qualifications

• Highest level of technical and product-specific expertise in insurance and claims principles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills with internal and external partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple complex claims.

Responsibilities

• Manages the most complex investigations of claims, including coverage defenses, liability and damages exposures.
• Directs investigative activity or litigation on major claims and reserves.
• Negotiates the most complex settlement packages and informs policy and strategy decisions.
• Keeps current on state/territory regulations and industry trends; may represent CNA in external groups.
• Mentors less experienced staff and drives claim training and special projects.
