Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel, Management Liability, to join the Financial Lines Claims team in overseeing primary and excess Management Liability claims. You will analyze, investigate, and resolve claims, draft coverage letters, and coordinate with brokers, insureds, and counsel to optimize outcomes.

The role requires a JD with at least 5 years in legal or claims handling, preferably in Management Liability, and the ability to work independently while supporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant legal or claims handling experience, ideally in management liability or related areas.
• J.D. preferred or related field of study.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
• Ability to negotiate terms within designated authority.
• Strong time management to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to articulate coverage determinations.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and partners.
• Self-starter capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of primary and excess Management Liability Claims including Public Company D&O, Private Company D&O, EPL, and Fiduciary Liability.
• Analyze, investigate, and resolve claims with moderate supervision.
• Prepare reports reflecting loss development, exposure, reserve changes, and strategy.
• Collaborate with underwriting on significant exposures.
• Work with brokers, insureds, and counsel to resolve claims.
• Draft coverage correspondence and manage appointments with counsel.
• Maintain comprehensive claims files and stay current on industry trends.
• Monitor market conditions and develop reference materials for claims and underwriting teams.
