Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Alpharetta, GA, seeks an experienced Counsel to manage coverage and bad faith litigation nationwide. You will advise the Claim Department on policy language, coordinate with outside counsel, and monitor developments across multiple jurisdictions to drive optimal outcomes.

The role requires a J.D. and at least eight years of experience in law, preferably with both law firm and insurer exposure, and a proven ability to analyze coverage across various policies.

Qualifications

• J.D. required to practice law.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in law, preferably both in a law firm and an insurance company.
• Experience handling coverage and bad faith litigation arising under CGL and/or first-party property policies.
• Experience across multiple US jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Manage coverage and bad faith litigation nationwide by providing competent legal advice.
• Coordinate outside coverage counsel and review filings and discovery responses.
• Advise Claim Department on coverage issues, including policy language and documentation.
• Research external coverage decisions and legislation across jurisdictions.
• Provide training and legal guidance on claim handling and documentation.
• Support special projects and other duties as needed.
