Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Senior Criminal Justice Information Technician to oversee accuracy and timely processing of criminal justice data at Circuit 015-Pensacola West/Intake. You will supervise junior technicians, manage data entry and retrieval, and ensure compliance with department policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
• College education can substitute for each year of required work experience: 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year.
• Vocational/technical training can substitute 720 classroom hours per year of required work experience.
• High school diploma can substitute for one year of the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects and enters data about offenders into various criminal justice computer systems, ensuring accuracy and following department rules.
• Analyzes and updates information from documents like court orders, law enforcement records, and offender files using standardized codes.
• Sends and receives information about offenders and applicants through state and national crime information systems and explains the results to others.
• Answers questions from authorized personnel about the data in the criminal justice systems and ensures staff follow criminal justice standards.
• Keeps confidential information secure, maintains records of information sharing, and performs routine maintenance on office equipment.
