Job summary

Orion Hidden Careers seeks an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on major projects. You will supervise field crews, coordinate with subcontractors, interpret drawings, manage schedules and resources, and uphold safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires a proven track record in civil construction, strong leadership, and the ability to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of civil construction experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
• Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred
• Thorough knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety best practices
• Basic computer skills (email, Excel, and construction management software)
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and solve problems independently

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction work complies with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Coordinate daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet schedules
• Monitor and report project progress, productivity, and compliance with specs
• Read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and specifications
• Verify materials and work meet contract documents
• Track and manage equipment, manpower, and material needs
• Assist in developing look‑ahead schedules and daily work plans
• Provide leadership and clear direction to field personnel
• Collaborate with project engineers, foremen, quality control, and safety personnel
• Identify and resolve field conflicts or constructability issues with minimal disruption
• Maintain accurate site records (daily reports, timesheets, logs)
• Enforce company policies and safety requirements
• Maintain confidentiality of company information
• Prioritize safety of self and others
• Comply with laws and company policies; face disciplinary action for non-compliance
