Job summary

Orion Marine Group is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Superintendent to complete the execution of all civil activities on assigned projects. You will ensure work is safe, efficient, on time, and in accordance with contract specs and company policies.

This role requires strong field leadership, coordination with subcontractors and project teams, and the ability to manage resources, track progress, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous site records.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety best practices.
• Basic computer skills (email, Excel, and construction management software).
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to meet project schedules.
• Monitor and report on project progress, productivity, and compliance with specifications.
• Read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Verify materials and work performed comply with contract documents.
• Track and manage equipment, manpower, and material needs.
• Assist in developing look-ahead schedules and daily work plans.
• Provide leadership and clear direction to field personnel.
• Collaborate with project engineers, foremen, quality control, and safety personnel.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts or constructability issues with minimal disruption.
