Job summary

B&S Site Development in Virginia is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple heavy civil projects. You will ensure safety, schedule, and quality while coordinating crews, subcontractors, and materials to meet milestones.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in site development or heavy civil work, strong leadership, and proficiency in reading civil plans. OSHA 30 is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of site development or heavy civil construction experience.
• Minimum 3 years in supervision as Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and construction documents.
• Knowledge of earthmoving, underground utilities, stormwater, and paving.
• OSHA safety protocols knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate field staff.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations on projects and ensure milestones.
• Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Review and interpret civil plans, specs, and construction documents.
• Ensure work aligns with plans, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Lead safety programs and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Maintain daily communication with Project Managers on progress and challenges.
• Develop foremen and field crews to boost productivity and accountability.
• Manage inspections, testing, and documentation required by municipalities or clients.
• Identify risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records including daily reports, time sheets, and material logs.
