B&S Site Development in Manassas, VA is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple active projects. You will oversee safety, scheduling, coordination of subcontractors, and ensure work is completed on time and within budget.

This role requires strong leadership, the ability to read civil plans, and a proactive approach to solving problems. A track record in heavy civil/site development is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supervising as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and construction documents.
• Solid knowledge of earthworks, underground utilities, stormwater management, and paving.
• Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate field personnel.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30 certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations on projects and ensure milestones are met.
• Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Ensure work is executed per plans, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Lead safety program compliance and conduct safety meetings and inspections.
• Maintain daily communication with Project Managers on progress and challenges.
• Mentor foremen and field crews to boost productivity and accountability.
• Manage inspections, testing, and required documentation for authorities or clients.
• Identify risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, time sheets, and material logs.
