B&S Site Development is a fast-growing leader in large-parcel, mission-critical site development, delivering complex civil construction projects with precision and accountability from our Virginia operations.

We are seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple active projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget while mentoring foremen and coordinating subcontractors. This role requires strong leadership, plan interpretation, and superb communication skills.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in site development or heavy civil construction.
• Minimum three years in a supervisory role as superintendent or similar leadership position.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and construction documents.
• Solid knowledge of earthworks, utilities installation, stormwater systems and paving.
• Knowledge of construction safety protocols and OSHA standards.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate field personnel.
• Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office and project management software.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30 certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on multiple active projects.
• Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, equipment and materials.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications and construction documents.
• Ensure work is performed according to plans, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Lead safety program and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Maintain daily communication with Project Managers on progress and challenges.
• Develop and mentor foremen and field crews.
• Manage inspections, testing and documentation required by authorities or clients.
• Identify risks or delays and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records including daily reports, timesheets and material logs.
