Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead large-scale, multi-phase site development projects for mission-critical clients in the Southeast. You will oversee construction drawing development for grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage and guide cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and budgets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with 6+ years of design experience and a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 6+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience producing site design plans for large-scale, multi-phase projects.
• Strong understanding of civil site development including grading and utility infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with client-facing focus.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience in project teams.
• Understanding of business metrics for project success.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workflow.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale, multi-phase civil site development projects for mission-critical clients.
• Prepare and oversee development of construction drawings for site grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
• Lead project teams to deliver design solutions meeting scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance and project updates.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development and project execution.
• Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support proposal development and contribute to project planning efforts.
