Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead residential site development projects in the Southeast, with a focus on client relationships and project delivery.

You will manage scopes, schedules, and budgets, develop construction drawings for water, sewer, and drainage, and mentor engineers and technicians while collaborating across disciplines. PE license and 6+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and PE license required.
• 6+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience.
• Experience with residential site design and client interaction.
• Strong knowledge of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Proven ability to manage scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client-facing work.
• Leadership experience supervising project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil site development projects for residential/private clients.
• Prepare and oversee construction drawings for water, sewer, drainage.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets; ensure delivery.
• Lead proposal preparation and fee development.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, multidisciplinary teams.
• Visit client offices and sites to support execution and business development.
• Oversee engineering work and interface with other disciplines.
• Monitor progress with accounting and project tracking tools.
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Communicate project status, risks, and solutions clearly.
