Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead site development projects across the Southeast. You will manage projects from concept to construction, oversee drawings for water, sewer, and drainage, and mentor junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualified candidates hold a PE license with 7+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience, and are proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license is required.
• 7+ years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Experience managing civil site development projects for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Strong understanding of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a client-facing focus.
• Leadership abilities with experience guiding project teams.
• Understanding of business metrics for project success.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workflow.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil site development projects for residential, commercial, and industrial clients from concept through construction.
• Prepare and oversee construction drawings for water, sewer, and storm drainage.
• Lead project teams to meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
• Serve as a primary client contact with strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development and execution.
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful delivery.
• Support proposal preparation and contribute to project planning.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members.
