Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our civil construction practice. This remote role requires EST or CST availability with occasional travel as needed. Salary range listed is $120,000–$140,000 per year.

You will lead self-perform heavy civil cost estimates, develop quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with subcontractors and clients to produce accurate bids for complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• 10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and schedules.
• Proficiency with Bid2Win and HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Furnish accurate quantity takeoffs for materials and costs.
• Identify, source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Identify, quantify, and evaluate potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare and submit inquiries to clients regarding drawings, specs, and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to meet submission deadlines.
• Support constructability reviews with project team and subcontractor input.
• Obtain and vet subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Communicate bid-day assessments and discuss site conditions differing from contracting documents.
