Job summary

GHD in the US East region seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to planning, design and construction engineering of water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure and site-development projects for municipal and private clients.

The role emphasizes linear infrastructure, collaboration with global teams, and a hybrid work model with office presence three days a week in supporting offices across the US East.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
• At least 6 years of linear-focused project experience in water/wastewater/infrastructure design.
• Modeling capabilities.
• Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while assisting senior colleagues with larger key clients.
• Community of Practice Management: Actively participate in a community of practice to build expertise.
• Engineering Inspections: Conduct inspections to assess engineering works and determine remedial actions.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and validate outputs per brief and standards.
• Engineering Standards Specification: Contribute to drafting standards and evaluating effectiveness within the discipline.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere to HSE policies and escalate issues as needed.
• Personal Capability Building: Pursue development activities and external accreditation to improve performance.
• Bid/Tender Response: Gather information, draft proposals, and fulfill requirements for bids.
