Job summary

GHD in the US East region seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to contribute to planning, design and construction of water, wastewater, utilities and infrastructure projects for municipal and private clients, with a focus on linear infrastructure. The role offers hybrid work with in-office collaboration three days per week and potential involvement in global projects from Australia to Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
• At least 6 years of linear focused project experience in water / wastewater / utility / infrastructure design / transmission main / industrial pipelines / energy sector / industrial sites / grading plans
• Modeling capabilities
• Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed

Responsibilities

• Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients and assist senior colleagues with larger key clients
• Community of Practice Management: Actively participate in a community of practice to build expertise
• Engineering Inspections: Perform inspections to evaluate quality and specify remedial work
• Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and validate them against standards
• Engineering Standards Specification: Draft engineering standards and assess their effectiveness
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow HSE policies to identify and mitigate risks
• Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities through training and accreditation
• Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and prepare proposals to respond to bids
