Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, delivering utility infrastructure for a major Amtrak design-build effort. You will act as the civil/utility SME, guiding field teams, reviewing designs, and coordinating with multiple agencies to maintain constructability and schedule.

The role requires 10+ years in civil engineering, PE in NJ/NY, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in NJ or NY.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Experience with utility infrastructure and construction-phase support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME for utility infrastructure during construction.
• Provide technical support to field teams and resolve construction issues.
• Review designs against field conditions, constructability, and constraints.
• Coordinate with contractors, Amtrak, utility owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support utility coordination during construction including tie-ins and relocations.
• Review shop drawings and as-builts; participate in field inspections and meetings.
• Identify and mitigate risks impacting cost, schedule, and constructability.
