Job summary

Arcadis U.S.Inc. in Newark, NJ, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project.

You will join a high‑performing, multidisciplinary team delivering a nationally significant infrastructure program that reshapes rail transportation and strengthens regional mobility. The role emphasizes field support during construction, design reviews, and coordination with Amtrak, utility owners, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Master's preferred).
• PE license in New Jersey or New York.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with strong emphasis on utility infrastructure and construction-phase support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for utility infrastructure systems during construction.
• Provide technical support to field teams and lead resolution of utility and civil-related construction issues.
• Review and validate designs against field conditions, constructability, and project constraints.
• Evaluate and respond to RFIs, submittals, field changes, and design deviations.
• Coordinate with contractors, Amtrak, utility owners, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve conflicts and interface issues.
• Support utility coordination during construction, including tie-ins, relocations, and sequencing.
