Job summary

Platinum Global Talent Solutions Ltd. seeks a Senior Civil Engineer; Utilities to support the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP) in the NYC metro area.

The role covers utility infrastructure during construction, coordination with Amtrak, utility owners, and field teams. You will oversee drainage, water distribution, sewer, gas, electric and telecom utilities, review designs, resolve field issues, and guide junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in NJ or NY.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with emphasis on utilities and construction-phase support.
• Ability to resolve complex field issues and contractor-driven design changes.
• Broad civil engineering knowledge: utilities, drainage, grading, and infrastructure systems.
• Familiarity with Amtrak standards and NJDOT/NYDOT requirements.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, utility owners, and public agencies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for utility infrastructure during construction.
• Lead coordination with contractors, Amtrak, utility owners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review and validate designs against field conditions and constraints.
• Respond to RFIs, submittals, and field changes; manage deviations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and support project delivery.
• Support tie-ins, relocations, and sequencing of utilities during construction.
• Oversee drainage, grading, and corridor infrastructure as needed.
• Review shop drawings and as-builts; participate in field inspections.
