Job summary

Herrera Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer - Stormwater to lead design and delivery of stormwater infrastructure projects with strong environmental and community impact.

You will collaborate with engineers, ecologists, planners, and scientists to develop practical, compliant solutions. This salaried, exempt role offers a flexible hybrid work culture, ESOP ownership, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
• PE license in WA/OR/CA or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience planning and designing stormwater infrastructure
• Experience collaborating with staff across diverse technical disciplines
• Experience in producing plans, specs, and cost estimates for stormwater projects

Responsibilities

• Plan and design stormwater facilities and retrofits
• Design stormwater infrastructure for municipal, industrial, non-profit, community partners
• Develop civil site development designs for municipal/industrial facilities, parks, etc.
• Navigate Municipal Stormwater Permits and other local requirements in WA, OR, CA
• Evaluate contamination sources and propose compliant stormwater solutions
• Model flow control and water quality infrastructure to meet standards
• Produce plans, specs, cost estimates, and reports for permits and bidding
