Job summary

Herrera Environmental Consultants, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Civil Engineer - Stormwater to lead design for stormwater facilities and infrastructure, collaborating with ecologists, landscape architects, planners, and scientists to deliver high-impact projects.

You will contribute to a diverse range of projects with environmental and community benefits, including stormwater improvements and civil design for public and private clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
• PE license in WA, OR, or CA or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience planning and designing stormwater infrastructure
• Experience collaborating with staff across diverse technical disciplines
• Experience preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for stormwater projects
• Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic stormwater modeling (e.g., WWHM, MGSFlood, SWMM, HydroCAD)

Responsibilities

• Plan and design small- to large-scale stormwater facilities and infrastructure retrofits
• Plan and design stormwater infrastructure for municipal, industrial, non-profit and community partners
• Complete civil site development engineering design for municipal and industrial facilities, parks, trails, and open spaces
• Understand and navigate local stormwater permit requirements in WA, OR, and CA
• Evaluate potential sources of contamination and propose solutions to meet regulatory requirements
• Model and design flow control, water quality, and conveyance infrastructure to standards
• Produce plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for permitting and bidding
