Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Senior Civil Engineer – Solid Waste Engineering in Texas (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas) to lead project teams across civil and environmental engineering projects involving waste facility design and permitting. This role requires oversight of QA/QC programs, regulatory interactions, and client leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related degree with Texas PE registration.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in civil engineering design.
• Experience in design and construction quality assurance for solid waste containment systems and related permitting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and within groups.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills for interaction with clients and staff.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design teams for solid waste sector projects.
• Manage large civil engineering projects including design and QA/QC.
• Prepare engineering design reports.
• Lead construction quality assurance programs.
• Pursue and secure new project opportunities.
• Interact with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare proposals and manage project budgets.
• Mentor junior staff and guide project teams.
• Provide strategic leadership for civil engineering discipline.
• Coordinate with external entities and stakeholders.
