Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Senior Civil Engineer - Solid Waste Engineering in Texas to lead design and permitting efforts for waste facilities, landfill gas management, and related projects. You will direct project teams, manage budgets, and interface with clients and regulators across Texas.

The successful candidate will hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Texas PE, 10+ years of experience, and proven leadership in solid waste containment systems, QA/QC, and proposal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Texas PE registration required; multi-state preferred.
• 10+ years in civil engineering design with solid waste experience pref.
• Experience in design & construction QA for waste containment systems preferred.
• Experience with permitting documents for solid waste facilities.
• Landfill gas compliance and management experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design teams for solid waste initiatives.
• Manage large solid waste projects including design and QA/QC.
• Prepare engineering design reports and permit documents.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Secure new project opportunities and interact with clients and regulators.
• Lead negotiations, presentations, and meetings on technical topics.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver future-ready solutions.
