Kleinfelder is seeking a Civil Engineer for our West Des Moines, IA office to support a range of municipal and environmental projects. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and brings 5–10 years of design experience, with Iowa PE licensing preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering design experience is preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Collaborate with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all construction phases.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Maintain client contact, including attendance at board or council meetings.
