Job summary

BKF seeks an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong land development background to lead project delivery, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior staff across offices. You will manage projects of varying size and complexity, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and ensure work is delivered on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• PE license required (California PE preferred).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in land development engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and roadway improvement plans.
• Develop technical reports, studies, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a primary client contact and coordinate with agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.
