Job summary

BKF, a multi‑service infrastructure firm, seeks an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong land development background to lead project delivery across residential, commercial, and public infrastructure efforts.

You will mentor junior staff, manage scopes and budgets, and coordinate with clients and agencies to ensure timely, on‑budget project success. Travel to BKF locations and client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; California PE preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible land development experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and roadway improvement plans.
• Develop technical reports, studies, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a primary client contact and coordinate with agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.
