Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in Land Development to lead project delivery. You will manage projects for residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments across multiple sites while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, applying your technical leadership and QA/QC oversight to uphold BKF's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license required (California PE preferred).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in land development engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
• Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and roadway improvement plans.
• Develop technical reports, studies, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a primary client contact and coordinate with agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.
