Job summary

BKF is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong Land Development background to lead project delivery, provide technical leadership, and mentor staff. You’ll manage projects from planning through construction, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include preparing grading, drainage, utilities and roadway plans, performing cost estimates, and coordinating with agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• PE license required (California PE preferred).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in land development engineering.
• Strong experience in site development design, including grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, and roadway improvements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
• Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and roadway improvement plans.
• Develop technical reports, studies, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a primary client contact and coordinate with agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.
