Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc seeks a seasoned Civil/Construction Engineer to lead IDOT and municipal projects in Central Illinois. You will oversee field activities, prepare scopes and fees, and mentor staff while ensuring project quality and compliance.

Applicants should have a BS in Civil/Construction Eng, 10+ years of IDOT or municipal experience, and willingness to travel across our service area. Compensation ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 with a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in IDOT construction or municipal work.
• Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area with own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and testing.
• Prepare project scope, fees and Work Order documents to IDOT.
• Manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff.
• Maintain project records, time, equipment, and material needs.
• Coordinate with contractor and residents, resolve conflicts.
